Plum Gorgeous
Burgundy has proved a wonderful colour in the garden and there's a beautiful plant called "Plum Gorgeous".
It's Latin name is loropetalum is derived from the appearance of it's flower, the petals (petalon, in Greek) of which resemble fringe or little straps (loron, in Greek).
Loropetalum grows about a metre high, you can put it in a large pot if desired and can grow in full or part shade.
It is a very good shrub if you want to keep it compact and shaped - it's perfect for an informal hedge.
