Magic 1278 Breakfast
Ann was born in Melbourne, grew up in East Malvern and always seemed headed for a career in the media, making her first TV commercial at the age of seven.
Ann was a talented model, singer, actor and dancer before a career opportunity at 3XY as a copywriter beckoned. Ann eventually became a senior copywriter before joining 3MP in 1987 as creative director.
What was your first job?
I worked in a newsagency and also washed dogs part-time.
What is your favourite on air moment thus far?
During a live Broadcast from Crown Casino we were interviewing the cast of Beauty and the Beast, when Promoter Kevin Jacobbsen rolled up his sleeves and started playing the piano. All ad-lib and great live radio.
What is your most embarrassing on air moment?
Another OB (outside broadcast) with guest Tony Barber, very pleasant and easy to talk to but he turned from us to the live audience and virtually took over the program for around 20 minutes.
If you could interview anyone (living or dead) who would it be?
Love to interview Elvis Presley, not that I was a great fan but his life was fascinating, from a poor Memphis boy to become the most successful and enduring rock/pop singer of all time.
