Coffee can help your heart
If you need an excuse to pour yourself that second cup of coffee, here’s a reason.
Moderate, daily coffee drinking may be good for your heart. In heart failure, the heart has difficulty pumping enough blood to meet the body’s needs.
Heart failure can be caused by coronary artery disease or high blood pressure.
The problem though is that we don’t know why coffee helps here. Perhaps people who regularly drink coffee benefit from the antioxidant effects, because antioxidants protect cells from damage. Coffee is unfairly targeted in many health issues.
It can be enjoyed in small amounts in pregnancy, or by those who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure or blood sugar, or experience palpitations or the jitters.
