Liquid Paper

Have some early morning fun with Kevin and Jane's Wacky Facts.

It's an easy way to win on Magic 1278 Breakfast. We give you a Wacky Fact and you try to make some sense of it!

Just by playing you're off to the Pancake Parlour with either a voucher for $100 or $25. Lovely!

Before computers took over, many typists relied on Liquid Paper to hide mistakes. It was invented in 1956 by Bette Nesmith, mother of Monkee Mike Nesmith. When she came up with what was to be her multi-million dollar idea, Bette called her invention:

(a)  Get Out

(b)  Mistake Out

(c)  White Out

Answer:

(b)  Mistake Out. Bette changed the name to Liquid Paper when she started her own company in 1962 and when she died in 1980, her estate was valued at more than $50 million.

Blog comments Your Say

  • Kevin and Jane,
I did not know that story, but I think that the making of post-it notes is a little more interesting.
    Best wishes,
    Les
