66th Australian DanceSport Championship

Join the international stars of DanceSport in a not to be missed annual event, the 66th Australian DanceSport Championship, as they compete to take out the 2011 Australian titles at Hisense Area from December 8-11.
Along with The Australian DanceSport Championship, Melbourne will also play host to the WDSF Asian Pacific DanceSport Championship as representatives from countries within the Asian pacific Region compete in both Standard and Latin.
That is two stunning DanceSport Events in Melbourne in December – both attracting international competitors with couples from South East Asia and Oceania, Italy, France, Denmark, Russia, Finland and Ireland taking part in what promises to be an exciting ‘Festival of Dance’.
The competition will be gruelling and intense as dancers defending their titles are challenged for the right to represent their country in future international events including the WDSF World International DanceSport Standard which Melbourne will proudly host in December 2012. This will be the third world DanceSport event Melbourne has won the right to host since 2004.
This year direct from thrilling audiences around the world, current British and World Exhibition champions from South Africa, Craig Smith and Natalie Woolfe will perform a floorshow which incorporates all the challenging elements that DanceSport features including strength, agility, fluidity with the aesthetic beauty of classic dance.
But whether it’s Tango or Foxtrot, Jive or Cha Cha it’s not strictly ballroom! – the 66th Australian DanceSport Championship and the WDSF Asian Pacific DanceSport Championship promises to enthral audiences with four days of sparkling dance entertainment culminating in two show case nights.
Be a part of the finals action amidst the glitz and glamour that is competitive Dancesport at its best!
