These recipes are guaranteed to have everyone asking for seconds… and thirds!
Hazel’s Spag Bol Sauce
This is low in fat but high in flavor. If you need to watch your salt intake, use “no added salt” ingredients. It will still taste “belissimo”.
Ingredients:
2 stalks of celery, finely chopped
1 large onion, chopped
I clove garlic, crushed, or 1 tsp crushed garlic from a jar
500 g low fat mince
Large tin of tomatoes
4 tbs tomato paste
400g tin of red kidney beans
Cracked pepper to taste
Italian spice mix to taste
Method:
• In a hot wok, add a little water (not oil) to onion, celery and garlic and cook until just soft.
• Add mince and brown it.
• Add tomatoes, tomato paste, beans, cracked pepper and spice and simmer until mince is completely cooked.
Mary’s Sausage Stew

Mary’s been making this for more than 40 years and her family still visits asking for more, please!
• Chop sausages into pieces.
• Dice your favourite vegies: onions, carrot, cabbage, potatoes, and add peas if you like.
• Add a couple of tablespoons of Gravox.
• Slow cook for around 1 hour on stove top or in a pressure cooker for 10 mins.
• Delicious served with mashed potato.
Judy’s Curried Sausages

This has been a long-time “more, please” dish for Judy’s family

12 hard-boiled eggs
4 onions, diced
Oil
2 tbs butter
2 tbs curry powder
½ - 1 litre milk
2 tbs flour
Method:
• Heat oil and butter in pan.
