Many people do not realise that there are two types of bamboo, one is the spreading bamboo that can be problem if not maintained, the other is the clumping bamboo which only sends up canes from around the base of the clump and so needs less maintenance and is less wandering.

Editor's Note: Gracilis Bamboo is a good example of a non-invasive Bamboo perfect for creating a dense screen without encroaching into the garden space.
