Aerial Layering

Many plants can be propagated by a method called aerial layering where the cutting remains on the parent plant by wounding a little of the stem of a rhododendron for instance and then rapping the branch with sphagnum moss.

Then cover it with a plastic bag allowing the roots to form, which you can then cut it off to make a new plant.
